Commissioned as an Electronic Notary Public? Apply as a notary instead: a notary takes consultations and notarizes too.
Frequently asked questions
Eligibility, costs, recommendations, and moving to a notarial commission.
Who can apply as a lawyer?
Members of the Philippine Bar in good standing who are allowed to engage in the private practice of law. No notarial commission is needed. If you hold an Electronic Notary Public commission, apply as a notary instead: a notary does everything a lawyer does, and notarizes too.
Does it cost anything to apply?
Applying is free and needs no particular plan. It does need a current identity verification, which has its own fee unless you sign in with eGovPH. Twala takes its ordinary commission on paid consultations, the same as for notaries.
What can’t a lawyer do on Twala?
Anything notarial: preparing or performing a notarization, keeping a notarial register, taking notarization requests, or answering copy requests. As a client, you can still book a notary like anyone else.
How do clients find me?
On the Partner Network, where clients can narrow the directory to lawyers, and through recommendations: a client describes their legal matter, and Twala recommends the lawyers whose practice areas, services, languages, and city fit it best. Your name, photo, rating, and fees are never used to rank you.
How long does my accreditation last?
Until the validity date the reviewer sets when approving you. You’re reminded 30, 14, and 7 days before, then daily in the last week. A lapsed accreditation is applied for again, starting from your last application.
I was just commissioned as an ENP. Do I start over?
No. Apply as a notary from Account and profile, and the application starts with your lawyer details. You keep taking consultations while it’s reviewed, and once it’s approved, your notary accreditation replaces your lawyer accreditation. Your listing, reviews, hours, payout account, and bookings carry on.
Twala is a technology provider and does not give legal advice. Notarial acts are performed by commissioned Electronic Notaries Public.
Bring your practice online. Clients are looking for you.
