Online Notarization 24/7: How Twala Fits Around Your Schedule

Twala is open 24/7. You can verify your ID, prepare and sign a document, book an online notarization, and pay at any hour, then appear before an Electronic Notary Public in one of their open times.

Say it’s 10:40 on a Thursday night in Quezon City. Your sister needs a special power of attorney to deal with the bank for you next week, and the two people you want as witnesses are a cousin in Batangas and a friend in Pampanga. On paper, that means a Friday off work, three people on the road, and a notary’s office that closes before half of them can get there. On Twala, most of it is done before you go to bed.

What you can do on Twala at any hour

None of these steps waits for office hours:

  • Create an account. It’s free, with Google, Microsoft, or a one-time email code.
  • Verify your identity. Scan your National ID’s QR code, or photograph another government-issued ID, then do a face scan. You do this once, and it stays current until the ID expires or for three years.
  • Draft the document. Start from a template and ask Lex, the AI inside Twala, to fill in the details, then apply or dismiss each edit it proposes.
  • Collect signatures. For an acknowledgment, like the SPA above, everyone signs on Twala from their own device, for free, before the session. For an affidavit, ask your notary when to sign, because the Rules have you sign as part of the act.
  • Request the appointment. Choose Remote or In-person, pick an Electronic Notary Public (ENP), and pick one of their open times.
  • Message your notary. The Messages tab opens the moment you send the request.
  • Change the time. Propose a new slot with Change time, up to the notary’s minimum notice.
  • Pay and download. Payment is due within 24 hours of the notary’s request, and the notarized PDF appears under Notarizations as soon as it’s paid.
  • Verify a document. Anyone can check an eNotarized PDF on Twala’s verify page, day or night.

The one step that needs a notary’s time

The session is the part you can’t do alone. A notarial act needs you to appear before the ENP live, so it takes place in one of the notary’s open times, shown on Twala in Philippine time.

That still frees you from a single office’s schedule. ENPs set their own hours and can work from anywhere in the Philippines, and an ENP’s notarial jurisdiction is nationwide. The notary you book can be in Iloilo while you are in Quezon City, and you can look across ENPs for an open time that suits you, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends when a notary offers them.

Same-day notarization is possible when an ENP has an open time that day and everyone appearing is verified and ready. To get the earliest slot you can actually use:

  • Be ready before you book. If everyone is verified and, for an acknowledgment, the document is already signed, the first open time you find is one you can take.
  • Search beyond your city. Find ENPs by name or by city, and don’t stop at your own.
  • Say what you need. If you are working to a deadline, tell the notary on the Messages tab.

Who this helps most

A notary’s office keeps office hours. Plenty of the people who need one can’t.

  • A BPO agent in Pasig coming off a night shift can verify an ID and send a request at six in the morning, sleep, and appear in the afternoon slot they picked.
  • A seafarer home in Iloilo between contracts can settle an SPA for the family in the days before flying out, without spending one of those days in a queue.
  • A shop owner in Davao can send a supplier contract for signing after closing up and book the notarization for the next open slot.
  • Three siblings in Bulacan, Cavite, and Cebu can go over an extrajudicial settlement from their own homes on a Sunday night, then appear together in one remote session.

For families and businesses spread across the islands, that last point matters most. Everyone joins the same session from wherever they are in the Philippines, so nobody has to travel to anyone else.

Tips for an evening or weekend session

  • Light your face. At night, a lamp in front of you works better than a ceiling light behind you, so the notary can see you clearly.
  • Test the connection at the hour you booked. Home internet can slow down in the evening, and the call needs at least 2 Mbps.
  • Find a quiet room. A weekend house is a loud house, and the session needs a private space where nobody walks in.
  • Check your witnesses’ schedules as well as yours. Everyone appearing has to be online at the same time, verified, and in the Philippines.

Before you count on a deadline

Twala takes away the waiting that comes from paper and office hours. It keeps the steps that protect you, so plan around them:

  • The notary has to accept your request and may decline it. If that happens, request another ENP; requesting is free.
  • The act can’t be performed until every principal and witness has verified their identity.
  • Payment is due within 24 hours of the request, and the notarized PDF is released once it’s paid.
  • Everyone appearing has to be in the Philippines on the day.
  • The office receiving your document has to accept an eNotarized PDF, so check with them first. Banks and agencies set their own requirements.

Our online notarization requirements checklist lists everything to prepare, and how much online notarization costs explains the bill.

Frequently asked questions

Is Twala really open 24/7?

Yes. The platform doesn’t close. You can create an account, verify, sign, request, message, pay, download, and verify documents at any hour. The session itself happens in an open time your ENP has set.

Can I get a document notarized on the same day?

Yes, if an ENP has an open time that day and everyone appearing is verified and ready. The notarized PDF is ready as soon as the fee is paid.

Can I get notarized at midnight?

Everything except the session can happen at midnight. The session takes place in an open time your notary has set, so look across ENPs for one that fits.

What if my notary declines?

Request an appointment with another ENP. Requesting is free.
